Communications and Public Relations

An effective communications program is constructed on a solid understanding of the organization: business goals and vision, market differentiators, the competitive environment and resources – human and financial. The ultimate communications goal is to support achievement of business goals.

PKCBoston offers the following services:

Strategic Planning and Communications

Be Well Body Scan, Hayes Management Consulting, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Sullivan & McLaughlin Companies, Tufts Medical Center Brand Launch, Tufts-New England Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children Web Site

We structure and lead all aspects of a comprehensive strategic communications process – recrafting mission and vision statements, developing marketing and communications strategies, identifying key initiatives, implementing plans, and allocating resources.

Messaging and Positioning

Hayes Management Consulting, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Sullivan & McLaughlin Companies, Tufts Medical Center Brand Launch

Successful business leaders can be so entrenched in daily work that they sometimes have difficulty communicating the value proposition to potential clients, sponsors, and the public overall. We help clients define and then consistently and concisely communicate their value to their constituents.

Marketing Communications and Collateral

Be Well Body Scan, HandsOn Science Partnership, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Nashoba Valley Medical Center and National Science Resources Center

We ensure that all communications solidly project corporate and organizational missions and values through all media including press materials, marketing collateral, and Web copy.

Web Site Development

Be Well Body Scan, HandsOn Science Partnerhsip, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Sullivan & McLaughlin Companies, Tufts-New England Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children Web Site

Today, every organization must have a Web site which tells its story, enhances its mission, helps to sell services or products. The site must have compelling visuals and contents, be thoughtfully constructed for ease of use and navigation, while being flexible and adaptable for growth. Our team has developed 50 page sites and has also collaborated on sites with thousands of pages. Our experience in site planning, architecture and content development are a valuable service for our clients.

Media Relations

Be Well Body Scan, HandsOn Science Partnerhsip and Nashoba Valley Medical Center

Our team knows the news business. We know good stories when we see them and how to find them when they are not immediately apparent. We help our clients reach the general public and enhance their brands or corporate images by amplifying their media presence.

Media Training

PKCBoston offers individualized coaching for managers and senior staff who are charged with communicating with the media (print, TV, radio) on behalf of their company or organization. Trainees spend two full days in an intensive and interactive workshop to learn how the media works. The workshop is augmented with videotaped interviews so that the trainees learn how to:

  • Identify and Pitch News Stories
  • Craft Key Messages
  • Anticipate and Manage Issues
  • Be a Skillful Interview Subject

Crisis Communications

Psychiatric Health System, Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Centers and Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps

Our team has extensive experience helping clients address crisis situations, especially when it involves negative media attention that plays out over a period of time. We provide counsel, provide a spokesperson and serve as a buffer throughout the process. In addition, we help clients plan campaigns to counter and recover from negative publicity.

Staff Management and Capacity Building

Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps and National Science Resources Center

We work with senior management to create or reorganize the public relations department from coaching and mentoring current staff to recruiting new resources.
